Our Core Beliefs
-
"Kids do well if they can." -Ross Greene

-
Providers and caregivers should focus on a child's strengths instead of their deficits.

-
Children shouldn't be taught social skills for the sake of making society comfortable. Instead, their differences should be celebrated. They should be taught about their brain, their communication style (and the style of others), how to self-advocate for themselves, and how to live an authentic, happy life.

-
We don't "fix" or "treat" Autism. We support difficulties that arise from being Autistic in a society made for neurotypical people.
-
Emotional and sensory regulation are key to successful communication.

-
Successful therapy can only happen if a child trusts their therapist and finds joy during a therapy session.

-
If a provider is working with Autistic children, they need to be listening to the Autistic community and Autistic voices.

-
Children learn best when they feel safe, understood, and connected. Therapy should be child-led, interest-based, and filled with opportunities for joy, curiosity, and authentic expression.
